Heinie Wagner was the difference-maker for the Lexington Thoroughbreds in what turned into a shootout with the Boston Pilgrims. Wagner went 3-for-5 in the 10-9 Thoroughbreds win. Sam Freeman came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-2. Lexington improves to 69-38 with the win. They lead their division by 8½ games.

Wagner provided the late-game heroics with a walk-off run-scoring double in the bottom of the 12th.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Wagner.
