In a low-scoring contest, Tampa Bay pitcher Charlie Robertson was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Rich Garces earned his 35th save in 37 chances. The win gives Tampa Bay a season record of 69-51.

One of the stars of the game was Tampa Bay catcher Ed Herrmann. In the bottom of the fourth with one out, he got a curveball from Paul Toth and hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-0 in favor of the Tarpons.

"We found a way to get it done," Robertson said.
