Millers Continue Skid, Thanks to Phelps, Longhorns
The Dallas Longhorns beat the Minneapolis Millers, 9-4, at Nicollet Park. Dallas catcher Babe Phelps had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Dallas pitcher Art Ceccarelli got the win. He's now 5-1. Mike Witt was tagged with the loss. Minneapolis has now lost 5 in a row.

Phelps had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Longhorns went on to win.

"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Nick McGlashan. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
