Trappers Tagged with 5-2 Loss
|
Oakland starter Ray Semproch pitched well against the Salt Lake City Trappers at Oaks Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Kevin Cameron converted his 15th save in 19 tries. The win for the Oaks raised their record to 46-44.
Oakland took a 3-2 lead on Hubie Brooks's 27th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Brooks hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Salt Lake City pitcher Jim Bunning visibly frustrated.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Oakland manager Tony Louison. "It's usually not just one thing."
