The Dallas Longhorns did just enough to secure a victory over the Venice Tigers, 4-3, at Gilmore Filed. Nobody did more than pitcher Kris Medlen. Rick Sutcliffe notched his 1st save in 2 chances. With the victory, the Longhorns upped their record to 48-45.

Dallas relied on the hitting of Brian S Giles to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Longhorns on top, 3-2. For the game, Giles had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Giles told the Dallas Herald.
