Oaks Throttled by Longhorns, 9-0
|
Dallas Longhorns starter Kris Medlen was dealing, as his team thumped the Oakland Oaks, 9-0. Medlen picked up the win for Dallas, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. The Oaks, now 49-49, have lost 4 straight.
The Longhorns got a lift from center fielder Al Oliver, who in the top of the fourth stroked a 0-2 fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Longhorns ahead, 4-0.
"It's a mindset," said Medlen. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
