Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Salt Lake City Trappers and Fresno Grizzlies.

The Salt Lake City Trappers got a stellar effort from pitcher Cliff Markle, helping Salt Lake City score a win over the visiting Fresno Grizzlies, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Markle, now 9-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 6.

Eric McNair, who is tied for 5th in the HIN in home runs with 27, aided the Salt Lake City cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Markle.

Salt Lake City improves to 55-44 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
