Minneapolis starter Mike Witt pitched effectively against the Venice Tigers at Nicollet Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Minneapolis pitcher Dave S Smith got the win, upping his record to 2-5. Mike Paxton got the loss. The Millers now own a record of 49-50.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Minneapolis right fielder Chris Parmelee, facing Mike Paxton, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Millers the 3-2 win.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Parmelee.
