Oaks Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Venice
|
Oakland rode a fine outing from starter Doug Davis to victory over the Venice Tigers at Oaks Park. The final score was 6-2. Earning the save was Kevin Cameron. He's now cashed in 19 of 24 save opportunities. The Oaks saw their record improve to 54-58.
Oakland first baseman Joe Start gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the eighth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Oaks leading 3-2, Start hit a 3-run home run.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Oakland manager Tony Louison.
