The Dallas Longhorns topped the Phoenix Firebirds, 6-4, in High Indy National action at Gardner Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Dallas pitcher Art Ceccarelli. Rick Sutcliffe earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 5-8. The win lifted the Dallas record to 58-53.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Dallas trailing 4-3, Brian S Giles hit a fastball from Andrew Bailey for a 3-run home run, giving the Longhorns the walk-off win.

"This joint was rocking," said Giles.
