Gems Hapless Against Diamond Dogs, Young
|
Pitcher Irv Young was sensational for the Albany Diamond Dogs in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Flint Gems. Young picked up the win, and it was well-earned. The Diamond Dogs raised their record to 17-31.
Young, the winner, is now 2-4. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 1 hit, while collecting 12 Ks. He essentially shut down the Flint offense.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Young.
