Led by Lyle Overbay, the Dayton Marcos defeated the Rockford Peaches, 7-6. Overbay was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Marcos. Walter Moser saved it for Dayton. The Marcos now have a mark of 26-27.

Overbay had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 changeup from Ewell Blackwell, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Marcos a 7-6 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Overbay.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Danny Romanowski.
