Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Rosenblatt Stadium.

Flint wasted a solid 7-inning effort from starting pitcher Homer Bailey, losing to Omaha, 2-1, at Rosenblatt Stadium. Omaha raised its record to 29-23 with the win.

Coming to the plate with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning, Omaha catcher Rene Lachemann had a chance to be the hero. Facing Flint pitcher Mark Guthrie with runners on 1st and 3rd, Lachemann, who is tied for 9th in the AMA with a .590 slugging percentage, hit a run-scoring single.

"Tough loss," said Flint manager Jonathan Goodman. "But we'll learn from it."
