Multi-HR Day for Riggert as Diamond Dogs Overpower Dodgers, 10-3
|
Joe Riggert helped his team muscle past the Nashua Dodgers, 10-3. In the game, the Albany right fielder belted 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. Bob Shirley earned the win to go to 7-1. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Picking up the save was Jack Baldschun. He's now 6 for 10 in save chances.
Riggert had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the fifth when the 24-year old right fielder hit a grand slam home run. The home run gave Albany the lead, 5-0. It was his 19th home run of the season.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Riggert.
