Witches Lose, 5-4; No End to Nosedive

The Wichita Witches and Omaha Buffaloes provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Omaha Buffaloes did just enough to sneak past the Wichita Witches, 5-4, at Lawrence-Dumont. Omaha pitcher Bill Dietrich, in particular, had a standout performance. Earning the save was Ryan Tepera. He's now cashed in 3 of 5 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Omaha, had it not been for Don Demeter, the top prospect . Demeter contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Omaha up, 3-1.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Omaha manager Ramiro Ramirez.
Omaha is now riding a 3-game win streak.
