Washburn Dominant in Des Moines Win
|
Des Moines pitcher Ray Washburn did his part in helping his team beat the Wichita Witches, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The first-place Demons have won 4 straight.
Washburn's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 11 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 4 hits. Washburn, who is tied for 5th in the AMA in innings pitched with 148.2, goes to 11-4 on the year with 218 strikeouts.
