Rehg Goes 5-for-6
|
It seemed that Trenton right fielder Wally Rehg could do no wrong as the Thunder KO'd the Flying Squirrels, 9-4 today. Rehg rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Flying Squirrels hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Thunder were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Richmond fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Rehg in the postgame press interview.
Wally Rehg singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In this current campaign Rehg is hitting at a .308 clip with no home runs and 8 RBIs.
