The Long Beach White Sox had to overcome a fine performance from Richmond pitcher Chad Kuhl to grab a 3-2 win at Blair Field. Kuhl allowed 3 runs over 6 innings. Long Beach reliever Drew Storen picked up the win, raising his record to 6-1. Chad Kuhl was tagged with the loss. The White Sox saw their win-loss record go to 21-24. At the same time, the Flying Squirrels fell to 21-24.
Long Beach grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, Nolan Reimold delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the White Sox.
"Every loss hurts," said Richmond manager Nate Hoffman. "But this was a tough one."
