Strunk Goes Wild, But Rats Win
|
Long Beach center fielder Amos Strunk was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chattanooga beat the White Sox, 10-7. Chattanooga reliever Felipe Rivero picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Brad Brach took the loss. Jeff Lahti picked up the save, his 2nd.
Hanley Ramirez, who is on pace to hit 43 home runs this season, aided the Chattanooga cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We came out aggressive," said Rats manager Ryan Metzler. "We came out swinging the bats."
The win boosts the Rats to 22-24. The loss puts the White Sox at 21-25.
