Cienfuegos Defeated by Spokane, 4-1

The Cienfuegos Elefantes and Spokane Bunchgrassers left the fans buzzing.
Spokane rode a good effort from starter Jason Bere to beat the Cienfuegos Elefantes at Ferris Field. The final score was 4-1. Cienfuegos now has a 5-game losing streak.
The Bunchgrassers got an important contribution from designated hitter Orlando Palmeiro, who in the bottom of the eighth punched a 3-1 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Bunchgrassers ahead, 4-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Palmeiro, "and today was a good one for us."
