Sun Kings Lose, 6-3, at Fair Grounds Field
Starting pitcher Mike Scott pitched well enough to help the Shreveport Swamp Dragons beat the El Paso Sun Kings, 6-3. Scott got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Scott allowed 3 runs. Bobby Jenks was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Sid Bream had a big 2-run home run for the Swamp Dragons in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Shreveport leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Gary Gentry and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 16th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Swamp Dragons ahead, 4-1.

"We've got great fans," said Bream. "I hope they got what they came for."

Shreveport is now 22-25.
