Rats Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Mobile
The Chattanooga Rats got a strong performance from pitcher Joe Cascarella, who stymied the Mobile offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Hank Aaron Stadium. Cascarella, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the win, the Rats have a record of 24-25.

Chattanooga used a well-timed hit by Art Shamsky to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rats ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Cascarella told the Chattanooga Bulletin. "You win just by scoring more runs."
