Bay Bears Win, 4-3, in Extra Frames
|
Mobile beat Cienfuegos on the strength of starter Frank Owen's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The third-place Bay Bears have a record of 25-27.
Mobile used the timely hitting of Ramon Vazquez to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bay Bears on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There's no quit in this team," said Bay Bears manager Dave Lackland.
