Islanders Topple White Sox with Late Rally

Bill Stoneman could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Long Beach White Sox lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Honolulu Islanders at Blair Field. Long Beach has now lost 5 consecutive games.
With runs few and far between, the Islanders had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Honolulu came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Wilson Ramos delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Curt Davis and made the score 3-2, Islanders. Ramos was 3-5 with 3 singles.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Honolulu manager Josh Hasper.
