Chattanooga Still On the Schneid After 7-4 Loss to Flying Squirrels
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Chattanooga Rats, 7-4, in WBL Mid National action at Engel Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Richmond pitcher Fausto Carmona. Carmona went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-8. Matt Belisle collected his 13th save.
Johnny Beall, the 31-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beall contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Richmond up, 2-0.
"We had a good game plan," Carmona said, "and we were able to execute it."
The losing skid has reached 8 games for Chattanooga.
