Victory Takes Blaze to 33-25
|
The Bakersfield Blaze got a strong performance from pitcher Jackie Collum, who stymied the El Paso offense en route to a win, 5-1, at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Burt Keeley earned save number 5. Bakersfield has now won 4 in a row.
Also making an impact was right fielder Gregory Polanco, who drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the first inning for the Blaze. For the game, Polanco was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I still think this team can play even better," Polanco told the Bakersfield Observer.
