Starting pitcher Ray Sadecki pitched well enough to help the Bakersfield Blaze beat the Shreveport Swamp Dragons, 6-3. Sadecki went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 7-2. The win for the Blaze lifted their record to 35-26.

Pete Scott's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Bakersfield. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Bakersfield trailing 3-2, the left fielder grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"Ray was throwing strikes, locating well," said Bakersfield manager Manny Tamez.
