Flying Squirrels Topple Blaze with Late Rally
|
The Flying Squirrels grabbed a win, 2-1, at Sam Lynn Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Bakersfield pitcher Ray Sadecki. Sadecki went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The Flying Squirrels, at 30-34, sit in third place in the WBL Mid National INDY N - South.
The win was a team effort for Richmond. First Baseman Ryan Howard was among the key contributors. In the top of the ninth, he put his team in front, 2-1, when he hit a solo home run.
Howard said he "would like to have scored more runs for Belisle. But we'll gladly take this win."
