Manno Helps Bunchgrassers Run Win Streak to 8
The Spokane Bunchgrassers bested the El Paso Sun Kings, 12-4, at Ferris Field. Don Manno was one of the standouts. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jason Bere, the winning pitcher, is now 5-2. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits, while fanning 11 and walking 2. With the win, the Bunchgrassers have a record of 35-33.

The Sun Kings had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Bunchgrassers going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old left fielder Kevin Roberson came to the plate. Roberson hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 curveball from El Paso hurler Carl Erskine. It was Roberson's 11th home run of the year.
