Chattanooga picked up a win at Hi Corbett Field, toppling the Tucson Sidewinders, 6-3. Pitcher Joe Cascarella was one of the reasons the Rats triumphed. The win has Chattanooga at 29-42.

The Rats got a clutch hit from Sam Mertes with two out in the top of the eighth inning. Mertes jumped on a first pitch curveball from Kyle Lohse and hit a bases-clearing double, staking his club to a 3-0 lead.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Cascarella told the Chattanooga Bulletin. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
