2-1 Triumph Takes Tucson to 44-28
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Tucson Sidewinders and the Chattanooga Rats, pitcher Elmer Riddle was the difference between victory and defeat. The Tucson right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Sidewinders win. Eric O'Flaherty closed the game out for Tucson, earning his 7th save. Tucson improves to 44-28 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.
Fred M Lewis, the Tucson right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 2-1, Sidewinders. For the game, Lewis went 1 for 3.
"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Riddle.
