The Shreveport Swamp Dragons and Long Beach White Sox left the fans buzzing.

Long Beach starter Bill Stoneman put a stranglehold on the Shreveport offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the White Sox to a 5-1 win. The second-place Swamp Dragons have lost 4 consecutive games.

Stoneman earned the win to move to 4-6. In his 9-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 8 and walking 2. The right-hander allowed the Swamp Dragons few scoring opportunities.

"I was dog tired," said Stoneman. "But I really wanted to finish the thing off."
