White Sox Find a Way to Win
The Long Beach White Sox picked up a win at Blair Field, taking down the Shreveport Swamp Dragons, 4-3. Starting pitcher Rube Vickers was a big reason why. Long Beach reliever Curt Davis picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Bobby Jenks was saddled with the loss. Long Beach has a 3-game win streak, while Shreveport has lost 5 in a row.

Coming to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, Long Beach designated hitter Nolan Reimold had a chance to be the hero. Facing Shreveport pitcher Bobby Jenks with a runner on 1st, Reimold, who is tied for 10th in the AMN in home runs with 17, hit a run-scoring double.

"The chili dogs will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Vickers.
