Thunder Thrill Fans with 3-2 Win
Trenton rode a fine outing from starter Billy Loes to victory over the Bakersfield Blaze at Mercer County Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Jim Corsi notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 6-1. The Thunder lead the WBL Mid National INDY N - South by 14½ games.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Dick Gernert had a chance to be the hero. Bakersfield pitcher Clay Hensley had other ideas. But with two outs, Gernert hit a run-scoring single. The Thunder had themselves a dramatic win.

"We saved our best for last," said Loes.
