Bunchgrassers Take Tight Tilt
|
The Spokane Bunchgrassers did just enough to sneak past the Chattanooga Rats, 4-3, at Ferris Field. Spokane pitcher Dave Stewart, in particular, had a standout performance. Spokane has rattled off 4 straight wins.
Scott Fletcher went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Spokane. The 34-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brad Radke. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"I had a good game plan," said Stewart. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Tim Marshall said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
