Johnny Podres pitched a gem to lead Chattanooga to victory over the Spokane Bunchgrassers, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Podres, now 7-6. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 10.

Paul Popovich, the 28-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Popovich contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Chattanooga up, 2-0.

"We put together a nice win," Popovich said.

The loss makes Spokane 41-37.
