Carl Erskine Goes Distance in 5-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Carl Erskine had a solid game. He was a big reason the El Paso Sun Kings throttled the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5-1. The win lifted the El Paso record to 45-37.
Erskine's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 12 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 6 hits. Erskine, who is tied for 9th in the AMN with a 11.6 K/9 rate, goes to 10-5 on the year with 176 strikeouts.
In comments to the El Paso Daily News, Erskine insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
