The Shreveport Swamp Dragons used an offensive barrage to beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 10-2, at Fair Grounds Field. Sid Bream led the way, going 2-for-3 for Shreveport. The winner was Guy Bush, who threw 130 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits. The Swamp Dragons now have a mark of 42-44.

Bream had a big at-bat with one out in the bottom of the first inning. With his team down, 1-0, the first baseman hit a 2-run home run to put Shreveport ahead.
