Blaze Make It 4 Straight with 4-2 Win
|
Bakersfield Blaze starter Ernie Broglio turned in an exceptional performance against the Mobile Bay Bears at Hank Aaron Stadium, resulting in a Bakersfield win, 4-2. Cla Meredith got the save, his 17th in 21 chances. The second-place Blaze have won 4 consecutive games.
The Blaze got an important contribution from catcher Terry Steinbach, who in the top of the third punched a 1-1 sinker into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Blaze ahead, 3-0.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Blaze manager Manny Tamez, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
