The El Paso Sun Kings managed to get by the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-3, at The Dudley Dome. El Paso pitcher Carl Erskine set himself apart with his performance. With the win, El Paso upped its record to 51-41.

Edgar V Gonzalez was the walk-off hero for El Paso. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sun Kings second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Gonzalez told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
