The Shreveport Swamp Dragons did just enough to secure a victory over the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-3, at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Joe Willis. Willis picked up the win for Shreveport, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 9-4. Shreveport has run its win streak to 10 in a row.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Sid Bream, who leads the AMN in RBI with 90, hit a run-scoring single. The Swamp Dragons went on to win.
