Cavarretta Leads Sun Kings to Win
Getting a good performance from first baseman Phil Cavarretta, the El Paso Sun Kings defeated the Honolulu Islanders, 18-7. Cavarretta went 4-5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Sun Kings. The triumph puts El Paso at 54-44 for the season.

Torii Hunter took Tommy de la Cruz deep with two out in the top of the fifth. On a 1-0 fastball, Hunter drilled a 2-run home run to left-center. It was his 25th home run of the season and put El Paso on top, 4-2.
