Tight Tilt Goes to White Sox, 3-2
|
Long Beach White Sox starter Rube Vickers hurled his team past the El Paso Sun Kings, 3-2. With the win, Long Beach pushed its record to 55-49.
The White Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Ozzie Timmons, who in the bottom of the third hit a solo home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the White Sox on top, 3-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Long Beach manager Shane Polanco. "It's usually not just one thing."
