Tim Leary was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Bakersfield and Trenton. The Blaze right-hander helped his team beat the Thunder, 3-1. Cla Meredith notched his 22nd save in 27 chances. With the win, the Blaze sit at 58-49.
Pete Scott gave Bakersfield a good at-bat in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring double to help send Bakersfield to the win.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Blaze manager Manny Tamez, "I like our chances."
