Lexington Takes 3-1 Lead in Round 1
The Lexington Thoroughbreds moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Calgary Bronchos on the road at Anaheim Stadium by a score of 5-3. Thoroughbreds right-hander Erv Brame had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Thoroughbreds a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 1.

Brame delivered a quality start for Lexington. The 6' 2" right-hander allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings of work.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Lexington manager Jesse Green told reporters.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Anaheim Stadium in Calgary.
