With starter Bob Bruce leading the charge, the Dallas Longhorns defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 4-1, in Game 3 of the Round 1 today. The right-hander threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball at Gardner Park to help Dallas take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Alcides Escobar chipped in for Dallas with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Bruce.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gardner Park in Dallas.
