The Tampa Bay Tarpons topped the Lexington Thoroughbreds by the score of 5-4 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Round 2 today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Tampa Bay starter Jack J Powell, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 4 runs in the win.

Tampa Bay used the clutch hitting of Billy Urbanski to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Tarpons the lead, 5-4. For the game, Urbanski had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"Losing feels worse," said Lexington manager Jesse Green, "than winning feels good."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, August 27th , 2000 at Plant Field in Tampa.
