Lexington Win to Pull Even With Tampa Bay
The Lexington Thoroughbreds topped the Tampa Bay Tarpons by the score of 5-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Round 2 today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Lexington starter Erv Brame, who threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.

Nick Etten dealt the Tarpons a blow in the top of the seventh. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Lexington leading 3-1, Etten, who finished 3rd in the HIA in on-base percentage with .397 in 2000, hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run home run.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Brame.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Plant Field in Tampa.
