Etten Blasts Tarpons, Thoroughbreds Take Game 5, 14-6
Lexington Thoroughbreds first baseman Nick Etten was the difference-maker at Plant Field today, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Round 2. The Thoroughbreds took the 14-6 win over the Tampa Bay Tarpons to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Helping the Lexington cause was Bob Allison. In the top of the fifth, the 25-year old center fielder had a 3-run home run to make the score 5-1, Thoroughbreds.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Thoroughbreds manager Jesse Green said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, August 31st , 2000 at Whitaker Park in Lexington.
