The Salt Lake City Trappers powered past the hometown Fresno Grizzlies, 6-2, in the opener of the Round 2 at Chuckchansi Park today. Salt Lake City starting pitcher Bullet Joe Bush threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Trappers now lead the series 1-0.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Fresno hurler Bennie Daniels, Eric McNair, who finished 4th in the HIN in home runs with 35 in 2000, hit a 2-run single. The Trappers went on to win.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Bush.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chuckchansi Park in Fresno.
